Head of School - Mrs Elaine Gyechie
Mrs Elaine Gyechie is a creative and innovative early years specialist, who spent years designing the ultimate early years setting to best nurture, stimulate and develop young children. A majority of this time was spent working hands on in one of London’s leading nursery chains to gain a first hand insight into what a quality child care establishment should consist of.
Having arrived in Ghana in 2016 from the United Kingdom, she committed to her vision of bringing a child focused Early Years Setting with excellent standards and values to Ghana.
From the lay out, facilities, safety measures, learning zones and most importantly the exceptional team of staff, Petits Scholars delivers quality early years education to a unique standard. Elaine has taken her experience and vision and presented the new standard in early years education. Elaine is a mother to 4 wonderful children who thrive under the care of Petits Scholars International. She has a profound love for children, and a passion for personal development and standards of excellence.
Her wealth of experience comes from raising her own children and 15 years working in both the health and social care, and education sectors in the UK. Elaine is an English BA honours graduate, holds a PTTLS teaching qualification, is a qualified personal development coach and an Early year’s foundation stage specialist. Her working history ranges from being a training consultant within various care homes, schools, nurseries and hospitals to Training Director for a chain of Residential care homes in the UK.
The high standards and rigorous conditions which have to be met, working under the UK’s Ofsted and Care standards agencies has given her the attention to detail and compliance knowledge to set up an environment which is safe, secure, and fulfilling to the needs of it’s children.
Her ability to train and coach a team of staff to deliver excellent care and teaching standards at Petits Scholars International, is what makes the setting the perfect home for children to thrive in.
Elaine is hands on with the day to day running of Petits Scholars International and makes it a point to form a bond with every family she meets to create a lasting partnership in the development of their children. Elaine maintains partnerships in the UK where she is frequently updating her skills and keeping abreast with the developments in the Early years foundation stage curriculum and the Ofsted regulations. Petits Scholars International follows the UK’s EYFS curriculum and practices the Ofsted rules and regulations.

Happy Parents say
Our son Hugo (4) came to Ghana without any knowledge of the English language, let alone about the country. Through Petits Scholars he found friends from over the whole world, learned to speak with them and celebrated wonderful festivities like Christmas and Independence Day. The School and its staff is very professional and communication is transparent. Hugo’s teachers (his ‘aunties’) dedicate themselves in teaching the basic academics, are caring and teach the children about the world and respecting one another. And last but not least: Hugo loves the Taekwando lessons!
Mr. and Mrs. Tiddens, Preschool Parents,
Our daughter has attended Petits Scholars for two years and it has consistently been a wonderful experience. We have felt confident as parents in knowing that Ava is being nurtured, loved, and cared for, as well as challenged, supported and inspired to learn and grow. Her development since attending Petits Scholars has been fantastic. It has been obvious for us to see the positive impact the school has had in her development, not only academically but also socially and emotionally. The holistic family approach embraced by the principle is tangible and we have felt very included as parents. I could not recommend Petits Scholars more highly!
Mr. and Mrs. Tamaklo, Tweenie Scholars Parents,
We are very happy to have chosen Petits Scholars International School for our son. It has been an awesome journey and one of the best things we experienced since coming to Ghana. The educators are highly professional and it is amazing how they nurture the children through their well planned and structured activities to meet and surpass the parent’s expectations. Our 4 year old can read! His educational foundation is terrific and he has a very good understanding of the world. We have watched him develop leadership skills and grow his confidence to an appreciable level! I appreciate all the educators at the school for this. All services offered at the school were beneficial to our child and we will definitely always recommend Petits Scholars International School.
Mr. and Mrs. Macjohnson Odey II, Reception Parents,
One of my top most priorities as a mum is raising confident and well adjusted kids. Petits Scholars fulfilled this beyond expectations as I noticed a significant improvement when we switched to them. The teacher to child ratio ensures hands on care and attention to detail. Cleanliness is top notch and I send my kids off to school daily assured that they will be well catered for.
